I Am On Your Phone!

I now have added a mobile website for home searching when you are not at your computer!  Go to MechelleSellsHomes.com/mobile. You can search for open houses, homes for sale, and if you are signed up on my HomeFinder's (New Listing Alert Tab) program, you can also see your favorite listings that you have saved.

Checking Systems

I am writing this quick post, just to test some new systems I have in place. If you remember, my full time job (which I love) is guiding buyers and sellers through the real estate market.

I also like to blog, as you can tell. What I am not so great at is getting the blogging to work like I would like.

So if got this far in my blog post, thanks, and next blog post will be back to real estate!

Twitter, Tweets, and Tweal Estate

By now you probably have heard the word Twitter, it seems lately it has been mentioned everywhere. Twitter is a micro-blogging and social networking service that enables users to send and read other user's updates called "tweets". Tweets are text-based messages up to 140 characters in length. You can read them on your profile page or set up your phone(some) to receive them. Twitter is free, but depending on your phone plan, txt msgs, might be charged.

Right about now you are asking why you should care about Twitter. Because Twitter helps me notify anyone who "follow me" about things I think they might be interested in knowing about. Stay with me on this.

Some people will tweet about everything they are doing. I am not going to do that with Twitter. If you want to know when I am walking the dog, or out enjoying Folsom trails or activities, you can always catch up with me on Facebook.  What I am going to Tweet about (and I am excited about this) is when I see a good deal on a home or I hear of a drop in mortgage rates, or something really exciting is going on in Folsom, I am going to Tweet about it.  I see so many homes over the course of a week, and most are just average. But occasionally I see one that is beautiful, or a great deal and with Twitter I can Tweet about it and everyone following me will get the info.

Case in point, about three weeks ago I found out about a house on the market(short sale) had a very low offer (cash) that would probably be accepted if another offer did not come in higher. I had no clients that this house would work for(or else I would have called my clients). Follow me on Twitter and you would have received a Tweet about this home(at which point you should contact me) This home was listed at $390,000(comps would say it is worth $414,267) and sold for $340,000 or $148.65/sqft.

If you are buying a home this year, call me, I will make sure you know about the good deals.

Just a brief introduction about myself and this blog.

I am a Realtor here in Folsom. California.  I work in the counties of Sacramento, Placer and El Dorado. I have lived here in Folsom since moving with my family in 1997.  The move was great for us.  I love Folsom and all it has to offer. When I get ready to purchase something, I research it, check prices etc online. A lot of other people do the same thing. So I decided to blog about the things I like about Folsom, and about homes that I see that might stand out from the rest, maybe based on price, location, features, etc. Of course my top picks are based on my opinion, so others might disagree. This way, if you are across the country, across the state, or down the street, you will get more insight into Folsom.

This blog is a work in progress.  My expertise is in helping people buy, sell or invest in real estate. You will find several blogs online that real estate agents pay others for content, design, etc.  Not here.  I am a Realtor here in Folsom blogging about my little corner. I hope you overlook the typos, possible grammer errors and design flaws and take away a little more information about our Folsom real estate market.
